When comparing two objects (persons), the following constructions can be used: (not) as (positive adjective) as and much + comparative adjective:
She is as beautiful as her mother. She is as beautiful as her mother. He is not as (so) busy as we are. He's not as busy as we are. It is much easier to be critical than to be correct. It is much easier to criticize than to avoid mistakes. The situation is much more difficult than it was predicted. The situation is much more complicated than predicted.
In the second comparative construction instead of much there can be used the adverb far: much (far) bigger - much more; much (far) more important - much more important.
