The Present Perfect Tense
Present perfect tense denotes an action that took place before the present period (that's why it is called perfect, that is, perfect), but its Result is visible in the present (that's why it's present). This is the most common use of the present perfect tense. About another kind of this grammatical time, when the action does not end up to the present period, but continues in it, it will be discussed below. The predicate form in the present perfect tense includes the auxiliary to have in combination with the main verb in 3rd form (participle II): I (you, we, they) have done something or He (she, it) has done something.
